It was time for a makeover

No, not for me, although it’s kind of past time for that, too.  However, since no one can guarantee that I’ll look like Sandra Bullock, with the same talent and personality, I guess I’m stuck with just being me.

No, the makeover is for Reluctant Guardian.  I really tried, and while the cover could have turned out worse, it could have been much better, too.  So, after a lot of thought, and deciding it really needs to be on Amazon.com, it seemed prudent to get a respectable, professionally done cover.

I got a copy of the first draft yesterday, which was 99% perfect.  It just needed one tiny change, and now that it’s been made, I’m 100% happy with it.  And very excited!  I can hardly wait to put up it on the website and at Smashwords.

I’m also chomping at the bit to get it up on Amazon.  That wasn’t the case with the current cover.  The more I thought about it, the more it looked ‘homemade,’ and I just wasn’t willing to go there.

Now it feels more like a real book.  Of course it is a real book.  It always has been.  After all, as with anything in life, it’s what’s inside that counts.  But for most people, it’s the outside packaging that matters.

So hopefully I’ll get some copies in the next couple of weeks…and then I’m going to do a book giveaway.

The only problem with that is what to do about autographs.  I’ll actually have to pick up a pen in order to sign my name.  Guess I’m going to have to start practicing.  I always joke that I type so much I’ve forgotten how to write by hand.  Only it’s not really a joke anymore.  My handwriting, which was never anything to brag about, is absolutely atrocious now.  I’d make a very good prescription writer, if that was the only skill needed.  Unfortunately I’d kind of need to go through the whole hassle of becoming a doctor in order to do that, so I guess I’ll have to pass.

But I’m getting a little ahead of the game here.  First I need to get Reluctant Guardian listed with Amazon.  And that may take awhile.  In case no one has noticed yet, I’m a little technologically challenged.
