Meet Sam

Fellow author, Karen Pokras Toz, posted a blog today about her adorable cat.  To me it looked like she was about the same size as my cat, Sam, whose weight fluctuates between 20 and 26 pounds, probably depending on how many Doritos the kids manage to sneak to him.  Doritos and Slim Jim’s are Sam’s favorite snacks.

Anyway, Karen says that her cat weighs 9 pounds, but just looks larger because she’s fluffy.  Sam has very little fluff, as you can see…

As you can imagine, you wouldn’t want to carry this fat cat very far!

Now I’m going to put in a plug for Karen’s hit book, Nate Rocks The World.   If you have kids in grade or middle school, this book would be a perfect Christmas, birthday, or ‘just because’ gift.  It reminded me a little bit of the movie, A Christmas Story (the, ‘You’ll shoot your eye out’ classic that I have to watch every single holiday season).

  1. OMGosh – my cat would tear me to shreds if I tried to dress him up!! We put reindeer ears on his last Christmas – I wish I could post a pic here. I’ll do it on twitter… he was not happy.

    • Sorry I missed this, Karen. Still trying to catch up on the sleep I didn’t get Thursday night (not very successfully). Sam is actually pretty good about stuff like that. He pouts and has this low growl to let you know he doesn’t appreciate it, but he doesn’t scratch. Thank goodness, because when the kids were younger, he had PLENTY of opportunity to do so!

Hope I didn’t miss the picture of your cat in reindeer ears! 🙂

  2. WOW – that is one big cat & so handsome! Mine is now jealous that Sam gets all those snacks lol. I may have to sneak him a few things. Thanks for the plug – you’re awesome – thank you!!!

  3. Is that Sam, or the cat that ate Sam? 😉 He is too adorable.

    • LOL. I don’t think there’s another cat in the county that would dare to eat Sam. He is a lion wannabe and even our 100 pound dog is afraid of him. If you think this is adorable, you should have seen him in the polka dot sundress and sun hat my youngest daughter dressed him in for a pet contest a few years ago. It was hers when she was about a year old. Fit him pretty well. And he hated having it on. It was that day we decided we should have named him Garfield because he had such a disgusted look on his face. 🙂
