…that’s just not right,” is my new favorite saying.
Yeah, I know. It’s fairly well established that I’m weird. I can live with it. But what brought this to mind tonight is that I hit the four week mark on my swamp sludge journey. Last week I reported that I had started using my powdered greens twice a day. Well… That’s been kind of hit and miss this week because I just do not like the less expensive stuff as much as the Barlean’s. Which, I reiterate, I don’t like much either. So you know I was a little disappointed when I read today that the cheaper stuff is actually one of the higher rated brands. Yeehaw…
Since I’m a hair on the sleep deprived side today, my mind naturally jumped from four weeks of drinking sludge to a comedian I particularly enjoy. And that sent me to YouTube so I could watch one of my favorite videos again. The whole thing is good, but my favorite part starts around a minute in. This is where you’ll hear my new favorite quote.
Now for the ROW80 update…
This week, or the beginning of it, went much better than the previous two. Five chapters edited by Wednesday night – and have done nothing since. Of course I hadn’t paced myself because I was on a roll…so I just went with it. I’m going to have to work on that over the next week or two.
Didn’t make it to the pool even once. Yeah, I’m a wimp. I like winter better than summer, but after working out for three-quarters of an hour, showering and getting dressed, I don’t want to take 10-15 minutes to dry my hair in a locker room that feels like a sauna. I’m also not into that whole Bozo the Clown thing that lands on my head when I use a dryer. But I guess I’m going to have to just suck it up and live with the fluff. Or like my mom told me a couple of weeks ago, “Man up and get it done.” Uh… Mom? Did you, by chance, confuse me with one of your sons?!
I’m writing this on Friday night. Yeah I know, Friday isn’t Sunday. But to date, I haven’t written anymore letters for my Monday Mail Call. (hmm, one good thing about writing in the middle of the night is that your mind works a little differently…Monday Mail Call just popped into my head). If things don’t change over the weekend, I’ll only be two ahead after the next post.
And it looks like I have to add one more goal to my list. Remembering to post my link at the ROW80 site…
So that’s it for this week. I’m going to leave you with another favorite Tim Hawkins video.
***A quick update, since it’s still Sunday…I just finished editing chapter 6. So I got six chapters finished this week. Finished for the first time anyway.
It’s the mulch lifestyle for you, Kristy! And for me, too. But I’ve already adjusted, so it seems pretty good from this end. Of course, I don’t have to drink sludge twice a day… On the up sida, I found a brand of emulsified fish oil that tastes like a lemon drop smoothie. No kidding, it is goooooood. Let me know if you want details. XO
Details, girl, details! I like lemon. And I laughed about the sludge thing. I’ve just been sucking it down with a straw, only the other night I guess I did something wrong because that last little bit…was REALLY sludge. I don’t think I’ve ever opened a bottle of water that fast in my life. All I could think of was that icky green stuff floating on top of a swamp was now sitting on my tongue.
Shh about the mulch lifestyle though. I’m still getting used to the powdered greens…I’ll worry about adding the Compost Toasties at a later date. 🙂
Compost Toasties–eeks!
Lemon Drop flavored OmegAvail by Designs for Health. I buy it from my chiro/nutrionist. You could eat it like dessert. In fact, coming out of the refrigerator, a couple teaspoons of this tastes just like dessert.

Definitely one source of dense nutrition that will NOT leave dust (or paste or sludge) on your tongue.
Got a good laugh over your clips today! Love the parody!
I feel the same way about going to the pool in the winter. Such a challenge. 🙂
Great job finishing with chapter 6! It sounds like great progress!
Hi, Heather. I love Tim Hawkins (and spend entirely too much time on YouTube watching his videos!). I’m glad I’m not the only one who isn’t into freezing after a trip to the pool in the winter. Kim doesn’t like it either.
And thanks! I’m very pleased with the progress, though I’d hoped to have all 19 chapters done by February first. Probably NOT going to happen, but it shouldn’t be too much longer. And then it will be time for the second trip through… 🙂
Good work on the editing you did get done. Sometimes your mind just needs a break, so maybe that’s what’s going on these last few days?
I keep wanting to take swimming lessons, but having to go out in the cold after being in the pool always stops me, so I really understand your problem. Hope you find a good way around it!
Thanks, Kim. I think I did need a break, just didn’t expect to need it quite so soon. 🙂
As far as the swimming… There is no good way around it. I just have to ‘man up’ like my mom suggested. It’s just too bad the engine in the van doesn’t stay warm while I’m in the aquatic center. It’s making me cold just thinking about it.
I sure did. I need to pace myself more from now on. Whether that happens or not is another story though. I’ve never been good at spreading the work out (for anything) over time. I dive in head first and determine to ‘get ‘er done.’ (hope my daughter reads this…she HATES that saying, lol)
Having read about all the things you do, I’m guessing you are a little burned out, too…in addition to being more sleep deprived than I am. I would kick you in the butt, but someone would first have to kick me to get me going enough to actually do it. I will check around for a volunteer though. I want to read about Damon!!! Get busy, girl!!! 🙂
Did you burn yourself out after the editing? I have been putzing my way through drafting my Row post. It took way longer than it should have. 🙁 Why is that? No particular reason. Maybe the same reason you didn’t do anything after you edited the 5 chapters. I plan to do better. Kick me in the butt will you? Now I need to go write about Damon.
