Something Different

Since I’m finally seeing good progress in my newest book, what I’m calling my modern day fairytale, I’ve decided to start sharing some of the music I’ve been listening to. Maybe not every day, but a few times a week. I just find music to really help to set a mood, that it’s a great writing tool for me.

First up…

I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve listened to this song over the past couple of days. Something in it just really was what I wanted to get down in words…and I’m sure my kids are glad I figured it out.

  1. that song took me back a ways. I couldn’t write to it – the melody is too catchy but it’s nice to listen to.

  2. That song takes me back a few years! Music helps me, too. Either a specific song, or soundtracks that set the mood. I’m glad you finally got the words down!

    • OMG…am I the only person who has never heard of this song? I LOVE it. It’s my kind of song…and I just found out tonight that it was released in 1988. Dang. I wonder if it’s lumped in with the other stuff I forgot after my car accident, lol.

That’s what I loved about Playlist.com…until they screwed it up. Now I have playlists on Spotify…not complete yet (because I’ve only had it about a week). But I like playlists for specific moods. I even have one titled ‘Depressing,’ because sometimes you just need to have that going on in some scenes. 🙂

I’m glad I got the words down, too…except I keep listening to this blasted song. 🙂
