I’ve known Karen Pokras for close to three years now, and she is – without question – one of my favorite people. I’ve read several of her children’s books, including at least one Nate Rocks and Millicent Marie is Not My Name.
She claims that Pie And Other Brilliant Ideas is a middle grade book, but I disagree. I was kind of pressed for time when I got my ARC and was just going to get started with one or two chapters, finishing it as I could – but I couldn’t stop reading it. The history of the Russian Ballet hooked me from the start.
Karen has branched out though. I like to think I’m a terrible influence because now she’s writing romance. Chasing Invisible is a very good story about what life is like for the families of celebrities, and how they’re not immune to the attention of the paparazzi.
And now she’s working on a series. I can hardly wait to read these books. Check it out!
Author Karen Pokras is pleased to announce her debut contemporary romance series
Coming Soon: Book One: Ava’s Wishes
About Ava’s Wishes:
Ava Haines had big plans for her life. Her short-term goals included passing statistics (on the third try), graduating college on time, and securing a job in the art gallery on Main Street. Her long-term goal was to one day own an art gallery of her very own. Oh sure, she would someday like to fall in love and get married, but all of that was secondary to making sure her other goals were in line. Fellow student Max Wallis and esteemed photographer Thomas Malloy were just minor distractions she was more than capable of handling. She was entitled to a little fun once in a while, right? But as reality took a tumble, Ava began to wonder if she really was able to manage it all. Could all her wishes come true?
