Dear Readers…and a Cover Reveal

It has come to my attention that the powers that be at Facebook periodically reset something so the notifications you receive from pages you’ve liked are changed – so that you don’t receive them. Part of the reason is to encourage authors, artists, and business owners to pay for the privilege of having their posts seen by the people who have liked their pages. And I don’t blame them. The service is free, and they need a lot of … well, whatever it is they require to make it free to millions of people.

The other part, I haven’t a clue about because they do the same thing for family members so I can’t see their posts. Consequently, I periodically have to go through the whole family list – and it’s a big list – and choose to receive notifications from all of them. And I will receive the notifications …. until Facebook changes the settings again.

Personally, this frustrates me. Same as having to change what I see in my newsfeed from popular posts to the most recent ones on a near daily basis, I would rather not have to go through the hassle of choosing to receive notifications for every family member and page I’ve liked.

Until this practice was pointed out to me, I had no idea it was going on. I’m going to assume some of you don’t either, so that’s why I’m writing this post.

If you’ve liked my Facebook page and aren’t receiving notifications for new posts, it’s very easy to change that. Just click on the blue link in the previous sentence to get to my page and do this….

Put your mouse/cursor over the button that says liked. The little window will pop up. If ‘Get Notifications’ doesn’t have a check mark beside it, simply click on it and you’re done. Well, it also helps if you click on the button next to it that says ‘Following.’

This is what it should look like using one of my favorite pages, Better Batter Flour

As you can see, I’ve chosen to get notifications and followed them. And because of that, I receive all of their updates, including information on sales as well as yummy gluten-free recipes.

So that’s it in a nutshell. If you want to receive notifications about new books, or just want to hear about the funny conversations my autistic son and I have, this is the easiest way to do it.

And this ends my Public Service Announcement. 🙂

Now….

It’s time to reveal the cover for my new Coach’s Boys, reader requested novelette for those of you who didn’t see it on my Facebook page!

Darby's cover flesh colorIt may change a bit between now and publication toward the end of this week, but this is basically it. Hope you like it.

And just a quick word of caution, if you haven’t yet read Holding Out For Love, a companion story for the Coach’s Boys, this novelette contains a major spoiler from that book.
