Of course, I wish this to my own mother. And I wish it to me too because, frankly, I’m a good mom. But this year, I get to wish it to my baby – for the first time ever.
Yup. Her baby girl, Little Miss Aria (r-e-uh) arrived bright and late Monday morning … in plenty of time for Mother’s Day this weekend.
Her first picture at about half an hour old. When I got it in a text in the waiting room, like any good grandma, I started crying. Kind of like my daughter seems to be doing here.
Gonna take a little time for her to grow into her Rock ‘n Play bassinet…
It’s just amazing how fast you can fall in love sometimes, but as soon as I saw this tiny six pound, ten ounce human being, she owned my heart.
So…
To my beautiful daughter, Happy First Mother’s Day to you. The first of many to come. You’re learning quickly the reasons why I was such a protective mom. I see the same signs in you already and I’m glad. Trust me when I say that being a mother is the most important – and the best thing that will ever happen to you. This song describes exactly how your new daughter is going to feel about you as she grows – and the way she’s going to change your life.

How amazing is it that this video was posted on Aria’s birthday – May 4, 2015?
Congrats to you and your daughter! I became a grandma for the second time on Valentine’s Day to my grandson Tristan. My granddaughter is the big sister and she is three and does not take her job lightly; dear Lord in Heaven, we all wish she would be a bit more cavalier. I am about to be a grandma yet again in November when my baby has her first baby (2 times in a year!) and my heart is so full. I wish you both a very happy and blessed Mother’s Day! I too was protective and at times they felt overbearing, but I was a great mom! In fact, my mother told me I was a better mom than she was, and as a mother, I think we would be proud to say the very same thing to our daughters!
Wow, I am way behind here. Thanks, Rena! LOL…I love little ones, especially when they’re excited about becoming a big sister or brother. Hope you had a great Mother’s Day! And I’m glad I’m not the only overprotective mom out there. 🙂
Congratulations! I loved the pictures. How beautiful!
Thanks, Ruth! I will never be able to argue with anyone who says Aria is beautiful. 😀
Congratulations, Kristy! Your’s an awesome mom and grandma! I just shared this on FB. What a beautiful son. Awesome that it was posted on Aria’s birthday!
Thanks, Lynn! Twice. 🙂 And that song is great, isn’t it?
