Hi, I’m Kristy, lover of God, family, friends, good books, and yummy food. I’m also on a quest to get in the best shape of my life. As a clean and wholesome/Christian romance author, I spend much of my days sitting at a desk. And we all know that a sedentary lifestyle isn’t conducive to good health. So it’s time to change all that. To start counteracting the side effects of too little activity, hypothyroidism, and gluten intolerance. Yeah, It’s time to get busy because I plan on living to be a happy, healthy, and energetic centenarian. I also plan on writing a lot more books! 🙂

I think Jingle likes my office Christmas tree more than the cats. Uh-oh. I think there's more #christmasmischief to come.I think the reason I like to write sweet romance is because I like to be happy. And what better way to be happy than to write stories that always end in a #happilyeverafter? If you like reading romance novels, head on over to my website where you can get two free, full-length books today. http://kristykjames.net/free-starter-library/Until I found the recipe for the @hungryelephant non-fathead dough pizza crust, I either went crustless, or used low carb lavash bread. But I won't have to do that anymore. This was a fabulous bacon pizza - with a crust I'll be using again and again. Heading back to their YouTube channel to see if I can find a non-fathead dough dinner roll (experimenting early for Thanksgiving). :)Facebook

Thoughts From My Heart, 1
For a long time now, I’ve kind of resented the fact that authors aren’t supposed to have opinions about controversial subjects. Not if we want to sell books, at any rate. At the top of the ‘no-no’ list are politics … Continue reading
Eat the Elephant 2021
I really like the idea of starting a new year with a word instead of resolutions. Applied to me, resolution = failure, so I don’t make them anymore. And haven’t for a few years now. I’ve tried goal setting instead. … Continue reading
Another Year Nearly Gone…
I’ve been wishing the Ghost of Christmas Past would pay me a visit. Not really. I would never wish for a visit from a ghost. But the thought does make for a good opening line, doesn’t it? It would be … Continue reading
Change My Mindset, Change My Life
I don’t know if I mentioned it in another post or not, but I’ve decided I’m going to try to get back to blogging at least twice a week. Maybe three times, but I’m not going to hold my breath … Continue reading
Just Bought a Suitcase
My fifteen day hospital stay in February was both unplanned and unexpected, meaning I was totally unprepared for it. Last month’s surgery – which went well (sorry, I forgot to post an update) was outpatient and I was home by … Continue reading
Hello, Summer!
It’s been a fairly chilly spring in my neck of the woods and, if you know me at all, you know I’ve been loving it. It’s warming up in a hurry though and tomorrow, the a/c’s will be getting their … Continue reading
The Unluckiest Girl on the Planet?
“How does it feel to be the unluckiest girl on the planet?” This was the greeting from my sister after I was diagnosed with two different kinds of cancer – and Influenza A – during the first three weeks in February. At … Continue reading
So I Got a Phone Call Yesterday…
I knew who it was when I saw the number, even though I’d only called it once – to set up my first appointment with a dermatologist. I figured they were calling to tell me all was well with the … Continue reading
Happy 2020!
How is the new year treating you? Fantastic, I hope! We’re a full week into this brand-new decade and I have to say, things haven’t really changed. Not the run of the mill, everyday kinds of things anyway. But I … Continue reading
Live or Exist?
Sometimes, when I think I know what’s best for me, I’m 100% correct. Other times, I’m 100% wrong. This time, I’m sorry to have to admit I was 100% wrong. About what? Thinking I could treat my hypothyroidism without prescription … Continue reading
