Welcome!
Hi, I’m Kristy, lover of God, family, friends, good books, and yummy food. I’m also on a quest to get in the best shape of my life. As a clean and wholesome/Christian romance author, I spend much of my days sitting at a desk. And we all know that a sedentary lifestyle isn’t conducive to good health. So it’s time to change all that. To start counteracting the side effects of too little activity, hypothyroidism, and gluten intolerance. Yeah, It’s time to get busy because I plan on living to be a happy, healthy, and energetic centenarian. I also plan on writing a lot more books! 🙂

A Cheap Date
Date nights can be a challenge in this economy. The cost of living means a good restaurant meal can cost an arm and a leg. And something as simple as going to see a movie? Yikes! If you buy a … Continue reading →
Roommates or Lovers?
I have a question for you. It doesn’t matter if you’re a guy (Romeo) or a gal (Juliet). What I’d like to know is this – how are your romantic gestures being received? Are you even making romantic gestures? If grades were … Continue reading →
A Very Special Offer!
Over the years, I’ve found that when you work from home, the people in your life tend to think you’re not really working. How can it be a real job if you’re not punching a time clock? And if it’s … Continue reading →
Summer Storms & Power Outages
I woke up Thursday morning - at 4:00 - to what I thought was an emergency vehicle parked somewhere near my house. I could see the flashing lights from both of my bedroom windows and was grateful they didn’t have … Continue reading →
AWOL For Too Long
When looking at my blogging history for the past year or so, I just kind of hang my head. I’ve blamed everything from life’s demands to having a hard time adjusting to having a baby/toddler in the house again. The … Continue reading →
A Little Nervous - and a Lot Excited!
A few weeks ago, fellow author Ruth Ann Nordin invited me to be part of a project for next year. A project that involves mail-order brides in the 1800s. Of course I said yes! And then I said, “yikes!” I’ve … Continue reading →
Saving Money Is Fun!
I’ve long dreamed of becoming a coupon queen. Of walking out of stores with $100.00 worth of groceries for $10.00. Of learning everything there is to know about sales, stacking, money makers, and all the stuff the greats in the … Continue reading →
3 Really Good Romantic Movies!
What makes a movie romantic? What is it that draws us in and keeps us glued to our seats, mindlessly munching buttery, artery clogging popcorn as we wait, breathlessly, for that final ‘aw’ inspiring scene? That moment we know our … Continue reading →
Overdo Makeovers
Yes, everyone, makeovers. When people tell you that your 2010s romance novels look like throwbacks to the 80s, it’s time to do something about it. So I did - and I’m excited to introduce you to the new Coach’s Boys covers! They’ll … Continue reading →
Doing the Right Thing Isn’t Always Easy
Apparently, I’m unable to focus my blog on a single subject. I’ve tried numerous times since mid-2011 … and failed every time. If I can’t share what I want when I want, I get bored. And when I’m bored, I … Continue reading →
