Welcome!
Hi, I’m Kristy, lover of God, family, friends, good books, and yummy food. I’m also on a quest to get in the best shape of my life. As a clean and wholesome/Christian romance author, I spend much of my days sitting at a desk. And we all know that a sedentary lifestyle isn’t conducive to good health. So it’s time to change all that. To start counteracting the side effects of too little activity, hypothyroidism, and gluten intolerance. Yeah, It’s time to get busy because I plan on living to be a happy, healthy, and energetic centenarian. I also plan on writing a lot more books! 🙂

National Porridge Day – & a Way Back Wednesday
Just out of curiosity, I found myself checking out a website of silly unusual holidays and, as you saw in the subject line, today is National Porridge Day. I’m not sure I’ve ever eaten anything called porridge. Oatmeal, Cream of … Continue reading
Thoughts From My Heart, 1
For a long time now, I’ve kind of resented the fact that authors aren’t supposed to have opinions about controversial subjects. Not if we want to sell books, at any rate. At the top of the ‘no-no’ list are politics … Continue reading
Update … and a Renewed Focus
If I had to chose a famous quote that would describe me (and my life) – on a consistent basis – it would be, “The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” It’s a translation from a … Continue reading
Not Tonight, Dear, I Have a Headache
I have been thinking a lot about my life this year. Given the way 20/20 has gone, both for the world and for me personally, it’s not surprising that I would be reflecting on everything from my health to my … Continue reading
This is a Test
I could say, “of the emergency broadcast system,” but I won’t. This is actually a test to see if I can start dictating things like this blog post, newsletters, and Facebook posts. So, just a quick warning, this post could … Continue reading
If Wishes Were Horses…
…beggars would ride. I don’t know why that old saying came to mind when thinking about a title for this post. Maybe because I wish I’d remembered to follow through with my plans to post a couple of times a … Continue reading
Hello, Summer!
It’s been a fairly chilly spring in my neck of the woods and, if you know me at all, you know I’ve been loving it. It’s warming up in a hurry though and tomorrow, the a/c’s will be getting their … Continue reading
Yikes! My Summer is Starting with a Bang!
I’ll be going in for more surgery this week. And then again in five weeks or so. Me, who hadn’t even seen a doctor in almost six years before being diagnosed with skin cancer in early February (So I Got a Phone Call … Continue reading
New Writing Prompt & NaNoWriMo Update
I had to chuckle when I chose the photo I’d use for today’s post. “My Plan.” I make a lot of plans. From day-to-day and from year-to-year. Sometimes, those plans go off smooth as butter. Other time, I can almost … Continue reading
Updates and Some News
So… I mentioned, a post or two ago, that I’d have some news some might love – but others would not. And I’ll get to that in a minute. First, the updates. The 2019 National Novel Writing Month kicks off … Continue reading
